Deeply is rich in prebiotic and plant fibres. To reap the many health benefits associated with fibre consumption, the British Dietetic Association
(BDA) advises adults to consume 30g of dietary fibre per day. The latest figures in the UK, however, show that 90% of adults are not reaching the recommended
amount, yet 1 in 4 adults are suffering from a gut health symptom chronically
(like bloating, constipation or reflux). Even those without a symptom can benefit.
Increased fibre consumption has been associated with reduced risk of chronic
diseases in the long term, but it’s not all about future outcomes. Science also
points to the positive effects on our energy, skin, sleep, immunity, memory,
mood and cognition. Many people report such improvement to back up these
findings in their day-to-day lives.
This depends on your overall fibre intake, medical history
and tolerance level. Each 65ml measure contains approximately 7.5g of dietary
fibre and we believe one measure per day is a great habit to build.
Just remember: if you are not used to a lot of fibre, increasing your fibre intake too rapidly may initially lead to experiencing some temporary effects such as flatulence and mild digestive discomfort, but these should subside as your body gets used to the increase in fibre. If you find this is the case – you can simply slow down your intake to half-measures while your body adapts, and build it up gradually.
Staying hydrated is important. Fibre requires water to work
properly and if your fluid intake is low, a higher fibre intake may lead to
harder, potentially painful stools.
We recommend that when you start taking Deeply you monitor your fluid intake to make sure that it is sufficient.
The recommended intake is 2 litres (6-8 glasses) of water, sugar-free drinks, tea or coffee every day … and more in hot weather or when exercising.
The proof isn’t in the pudding, it’s in the poo. You know when prebiotics are working because within days they can ensure better digestion and more regular, well-formed poos. This is a sign things are improving, and many will feel their gut work better within days. People are often able to reduce bloating, constipation, and other uncomfortable sensations entirely.
If your gut health is already great and you are just looking to support your general short-term well-being and long-term health outcomes, you might start to notice positive changes in your energy, mood, cognition, sleep and a range of other areas of your health. These build over time as a prebiotic lifestyle
becomes the norm for your body.
Taking Deeply helps to boost your daily fibre intake as each 65ml measure contains approximately 7.5g of dietary
fibre.
When you first start taking
Deeply you may feel some changes and extra flatulence for a couple of days. This can be a sign that the bacteria in
your gut are celebrating the arrival of more fibre. New norms may develop for you, such as a softer stool consistency, which is regarded as sign of good gut
health.
Consuming Deeply in the mornings tends to be the easiest time to remember. This can be done with or without food or caffeine. But don’t worry if you prefer a different time of day – Deeply is simply food for your gut and there’s no medical reason why it needs to be the first thing.
In every first delivery of Deeply we provide you with a stainless steel Deeply cup. It’s 70ml, so filling it just below the lip ensures you are getting your 65ml each day.
Each large Deeply bottle contains seven 65ml measures. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and consume within 14 days. Deeply Travel doses are one serving each.
Taking Deeply first thing in the morning helps to create a positive start to your day. But if you forget - even for a day or two - don’t worry. Simply take it again when you remember.
Changes in your gut can begin as soon as you start increasing your fibre intake, but it may take a few more weeks for you to start feeling the wider health and lifestyle benefits. This is why we recommend trying Deeply for at least 12 weeks before reviewing whether it’s had a positive impact on your health. The prebiotic plant fibre contained in Deeply is proven to promote a healthy digestive function. So, don’t be surprised if you start having more (and different) poos – this is just your body’s way of telling you that your gut health is changing.
Deeply is real food made with natural ingredients. This means it’s safe to take on an ongoing basis as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. Don’t forget, however, that this depends on your own medical history and tolerance level for fibre. If in doubt, speak to your GP. Please note Deeply is not a low-FODMAP food.
The idea of actually adding more bacteria (probiotics) to
your microbiome has been around for a long time and specific strains continue
to be studied. We’re big fans of simply feeding the good ones (prebiotics), seeing
them multiply and letting nature (and science) do its thing. Don’t worry you have over 100 trillion microbes in your gut, and many will already be ‘good’ bacteria. You don’t need to take probiotics to feel the benefits of Deeply.
You can store Deeply at room temperature. It is best enjoyed chilled, so we recommend refrigerating the day before consumption, and once opened consume within 14 days.
In short: all the good stuff. Deeply contains a naturally nourishing blend of ingredients including prebiotics, juices and purees, plant extracts, and plant-sourced vitamins B9 and D3. It also boasts a diverse and powerful blend of fibres from five amazing plants: Jerusalem Artichoke, Baobab, Acacia, Seaweed and Native Chicory Root. These superhero ingredients not only selectively feed the good bacteria in your gut, but also help them multiply and thrive.
Deeply currently comes in two flavours: Spinach, Kiwi and Seaweed (green) and Carrot, Ginger and Turmeric (orange). Both are equally delicious – why not try a mixed pack and find your favourite?
No - Deeply is made with natural ingredients and contains nothing artificial.
Yes - all Deeply ingredients are vegan.
Yes - all Deeply ingredients are gluten-free and lactose-free.
The latest figures show that in
the UK and Ireland, the average fibre intake for an adult is only 18g each day
The British Dietetic Association (BDA) recommends adults consume 30g of dietary fibre each day (The INDI recommends 25 – 35g). This advice should be adapted according to your own medical history and
tolerance for fibre.
Dietary fibres increase and
activate good bacteria, which support your immunity against inflammatory disorders and allergies. It is also known that a high-fibre diet reduces the
risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer.
Eating a range of dietary fibre
can:
• Improve the diversity of the
bacteria in your gut
• Reduce constipation
• Reduce lactose intolerance
• Boost your immune system
•
Reduce inflammation in your gut
Deeply’s fibre blend contains prebiotics, and candidate prebiotics benefiting from studies which support their positive role in the gut. Fibres which have been validated in large-scale studies as having positive effects on our gut microbiota are considered ‘prebiotic’. Chicory Root Inulin is one such fibre.
Deeply has been developed by a team of experts who are passionate about promoting the benefits of prebiotics and plant fibre. They’re all passionate about helping people to improve their gut health - one sip at a time.
It is common to experience flatulence and/or some mild discomfort in the first few weeks of starting Deeply. This is due to increasing your fibre intake. Deeply is passionate about using packaging materials that are widely and easily recycled. We do everything possible to avoid using plastics and are proud to be the first gut health brand to use aluminium bottles which are infinitely recyclable. This means that 100% of every bottle is efficiently recycled into new aluminium products without any degradation. Aluminium is widely recycled throughout the UK. This means you can put Deeply bottles in your household recycling, knowing they’ll be recycled instead of incinerated or ending up in landfill like most plastic.
